Propose an industry-based research project

Harness the exceptional talents of our Masters or PhD research students by offering an industry focused project

We welcome project proposals from companies for both our MRes (Masters) and PhD programmes.

To be considered, projects should align with the aims of the Photonic and Electronic Systems (PES) programme.

MRes mini-projects

Students spend the first year of the programme undertaking a Masters of Research (MRes). This is an intensive course of taught modules and two mini-projects. MRes projects run part-time from November to May or full-time from June to August.

PhD research projects

We also welcome proposals from companies for 3-year research projects for our PhD students. PhD projects run full-time from September/October each year.

Student placement

Projects can be based either at one of our institutions or with the industry partner.

Companies do not have to pay a stipend/salary, making this a very cost-effective way to enhance their research and technological development through the exceptional talents of our research students.
