UCL's Optical Networks Group nominated for Royal Academy of Engineering Award

UCL's Optical Networks Group (ONG), lead by Professor Polina Bayvel, has been announced as a finalist of the Royal Academy of Engineering Bhattacharya Award 2023.

The Bhattacharyya Award is an annual award to celebrate collaboration between academia and industry. This prize of £25,000 is awarded to the team who best show how industry and universities can work together.

The government announced the award in July 2019 as a tribute to Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya KT CBE FREng FRS, the Regius Professor of Manufacturing at the University of Warwick and founder of the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG).
