Prof. Robert Killey receives a JLT Best Paper Award

Professor Robert Killey, member of the EEE Optical Networks Group (ONG), collected the award at a prestigious conference.

Current and former members of the Optical Networks Group (ONG), led by Prof. Robert Killey, received this year’s OSA/IEEE Journal of Lightwave Technology Best Paper Award, honouring the most influential, highest-cited original paper published in the journal in 2017. 

The award presentation was hosted at the prestigious Optical Fiber Communications (OFC) conference, 8-12 March 2020.

This award is given annually by the Journal’s Steering and Coordinating Committee to the top-cited original papers published in the Journal two to three years prior to the award. As such, the award given in 2020 takes into account all original papers published in the Journal of Lightwave Technology in 2017. A variety of citation metrics and databases are used by the Committee to determine the winner.
