Abstract:
Subwavelength metallic resonators provide tight spatial confinement of electromagnetic fields, required for strong light‐matter coupling. However far‐field techniques prove to be impractical for detection of such fields. In this article, Lucy Hale, Giacomo Scalari, and co‐workers demonstrate the use of aperture‐type near‐field terahertz spectroscopy for detailed analysis of the confined fields in the single‐resonator regime without significant perturbations to the resonator signature. This provides a more accurate and more sensitive alternative to far‐field THz spectroscopy.
